Most frequent questions and answers

There is no official age limit – we leave members to decide whether they are an ‘older person’. In practice most members are between the ages of 60-95. We have one volunteer in his eighties!

The Luncheon Club is twice weekly during term time, on a Tuesday and Thursday 12.30-2.30pm. 

Tuesday Club is for older people and Thursday Club is for adults with learning disabilities. 

If you are interested in being picked up and dropped off by Brighton and Hove Community Transport, you will need to contact Caroline on 01273 728 678 to check there is space. If there is, the bus driver will give you a call about 5 minutes before they collect you.

Please note: There is no transport available for Thursday Club.

 

We are so grateful for everyone that wishes to help us. Most volunteers come along to see what happens at the club each week and to see where they would best like to help out!

No, but if we don’t see you for a few weeks we will give you a ring to see if you still want to be a member.

Yes please – so I can contact the bus company and take you off the list for that week. ideally by the Monday morning before if possible. (If you are unable to contact me for any reason perhaps because you are unwell don’t worry too much as the drivers always call before.)

We always provide a vegetarian alternative and do our best to cater for more specific requirements but we cannot offer a choice of meal.
